This Thursday we were already into the festive spirit making Christmas gifts but before embarking on a crafty day, we all had lots of fun taking a PR photo of the group with local photographer Gianpaolo Giancovich. Making the most of the sunshine, we all gathered outside by the fountain, and resident artist Mark Cosby brought along the communal canvas that all the children had added their artwork to. Look out for the story and photo in the news very soon!
For the rest of the morning, we made Shea butter home-made soaps, using essential oils and added fresh rosemary and lavender which the children harvested from the garden. We did a blind test to see if the children could identify the different oil aromas. It was harder than it looked!
After lunch and a visit to the playpark, they created some leaf art outside, using natural materials they had gathered.
In the afternoon Lucia made gorgeous Christmas gnomes out of wool. Ours is pride of place on the Christmas tree! We finished as usual with relaxation on the mat and a story before time to go home.
